Unfortunately, considering the latest government guidance, in order to safeguard our members and their families we have decided that the band will not meet again for practice until further notice. We know you will understand that this decision has not been taken lightly and is based on the best interests of our members. We will keep you updated with any future developments. Please keep practising at home though! Thank you for your continued support. Look after yourselves and stay well.
Welcome to UpHolland Community Band.
Based in the village of Up Holland, West Lancashire, we are a wind band/concert band at heart, comprising a range of brass and woodwind instruments as well as supplementary instruments such as piano, bass guitar and percussion.
The band was formed to give young brass and woodwind musicians from the community an opportunity to play and perform together under the guidance of more experienced musicians. The band welcomes players of any age: from school students at an early stage of musicianship to older musicians who would like to both support younger players and perhaps re-kindle a neglected talent! Our minimum requirement is that they can sight read and play simple tunes (eg. Amazing Grace, Jingle Bells etc.) - about Grade 2 or above.
Our main rehearsal takes place on Thursdays from 7.30pm to 9.00pm in St. Thomas the Martyr church, Church Street, Up Holland, WN8 0ND.
